Download “license_generator.exe”. In the dashboard open Settings ➜ Licensing. Copy the Device ID into the generator, select features, copy the generated key back into “Input License Key” and confirm. Licenses disable automatically after reboot if no features are selected.
How do I update the Maxxfan module?
Install updates via the Jarvis dashboard using a file upload or (soon) directly online.

Connect to the temporary Wi-Fi network “VOLTY_UPDATER”, “SWITCHY_UPDATER” or “FLUIDY_UPDATER”. Browse to http://192.168.4.1/update and upload the correct .bin file. The module reboots when done.
How does Volty install and pair with SmartKnob?

How do I physically install SmartKnob in my camper?

Drill three 2 mm pilot holes for the mounting screws and a 5 mm hole for the power wires. Fix SmartKnob with three 3 × 16 mm countersunk wood screws, feed two 0.75 mm² FLRY-B wires through the 5 mm hole, then connect to the push-terminals (minus left, plus right).

 

 

How do I connect SmartKnob to the battery?
Run two 0.75 mm² wires (fused for ~2 A) from the leisure battery. With power off, insert wires through the oval opening, press the spring clamps, insert minus (left) then plus (right). Ensure cables are strain-relieved before restoring power.
What tools and materials are required to mount SmartKnob?
SmartKnob (without front plate), 3 × countersunk wood screws (≥ 3 × 16 mm), two 0.75 mm² FLRY-B wires, 2 mm and 5 mm wood drill bits, screwdriver or driver bit, pencil for marking.
What are the dimensions of Volty, Fluidy and Switchy?

How is the Maxxfan module installed?
The tiny, ultra‑light module fits inside the Maxxfan and connects to its power—no external wiring or modifications required.
How do I install Fluidy’s tank sensors?
Drill a hole (>10 mm) at the top/side of the tank, insert a waterproof grommet, and drop the sensor to the tank floor. No gluing or external mounting required.
How do I install and pair Thermy?
All connections use spring terminals (no crimping). Pairing with SmartKnob is quick with LED/sound feedback; status and logs are visible in the dashboard.
Dashboard not loading—how do I reach it?
Ensure your device is on the same network. If using Access-Point mode go to http://192.168.4.1/. Clear browser cache or try a different browser.
SmartKnob doesn’t start—what should I do?
After applying power press the Reset button once (next to USB-C). If the LED ring still stays dark check fuse and polarity, then try a firmware re-flash via USB debug cable.
Volty does not connect—how can I recover it?
Open Volty enclosure, plug the USB debug cable and jumper, press Reset, then flash the recovery .bin at address 0x10000 using https://esp.huhn.me/. Remove jumper and cable, reassemble, press Reset again.
SmartKnob LED ring is off—how do I reset it?
Hold the knob for 10 seconds to force a soft reboot. If the ring remains off verify supply voltage > 8 V and that standby draw is present (~3 mA).
How are features unlocked on SmartKnob?
Via an expandable licensing system—additional features and scenes can be activated later, even offline, using a license key.
What devices can Thermy control?
Thermy controls parking heaters (e.g., Autoterm, Webasto, Eberspächer, LF‑Bros/China Diesel, Truma), rooftop A/C (e.g., Dometic Freshjet), and modern fridges via interface.
Can Thermy control two heaters independently?
Yes. Each heater can be controlled individually with target temperature, mode, timer, and on/off.
What can the Maxxfan module (Venty) control?
It controls speed (1–10), direction (intake/exhaust), lid open/close, thermostat, and timer—directly via SmartKnob or dashboard.
Can Volty control my 230V inverter to save energy?
Yes. Volty can switch the inverter via its remote port. For models without a dedicated port, a simple modification allows remote control.
Can Switchy control a lifting bed safely?
Yes. Switchy can control 230 V AC or 12/24 V DC motors; two inputs can be used for end‑stop detection, and logic prevents simultaneous opposite directions.
How many tanks can Fluidy measure and how accurate is it?
Fluidy measures up to 4 fresh or waste water tanks with high precision, including complex wheel‑arch tanks—no manual calibration required.
What is Switchy Extend?
Switchy Extend is a future expansion module connected via RJ45; it adds more outputs and is powered and communicated over the same cable—no extra wiring.
Does Fluidy support temperature and pressure sensors?
Yes. Up to 4 waterproof temperature sensors can be connected, plus an analog input for a pressure sensor to protect the pump via a configurable limit.

Open the dashboard ➜ Settings ➜ Wireless Settings, power the module, press its Reset button, then click “Device Pairing”. The LED ring on SmartKnob pulses yellow; when the module is found it flashes green and appears as “Connected” in the dashboard.
How do I access the SmartKnob Wi-Fi hotspot?
While SmartKnob is unconfigured or in Access-Point mode it broadcasts “CamperJarvis_XXXXXX”. No password is required unless you set one during setup.
How do I reach the dashboard after setup?
From any device on the same network open http://jarvis.local/ or http://jarvis/. If SmartKnob is in Access-Point mode browse to http://192.168.4.1/.
How do I perform the first-time setup of SmartKnob?
Connect SmartKnob to a fused 8-32 V DC supply, press the Reset button, then join the temporary Wi-Fi network “CamperJarvis_XXXXXX”. Follow the on-screen wizard to choose between joining your existing Wi-Fi or creating an access point. The settings are stored automatically.
How does Fluidy pair and update?
Pairing takes seconds with LED/sound feedback. Fluidy stays offline to save energy; updates are started from the dashboard via file upload or (soon) online.
Does SmartKnob create its own Wi‑Fi and dashboard?
Yes. SmartKnob can create its own Wi‑Fi with a built‑in web dashboard, and it can also join an existing van router network.

Yes. A dedicated leak input detects moisture and automatically shuts off the pump; alerts appear on SmartKnob and in the dashboard.
