For rental companies and fleets
Handovers in minutes. Fewer calls. Less damage.
Camper Jarvis replaces the many control panels in a rental vehicle with one dial every guest understands right away. Add a diagnostic blackbox in every device and, from Q1 2027, a guest mode and remote access to your vehicles.
What costs rental companies time and money today
Every guest is a newcomer and has the vehicle for only one or two weeks. Modern motorhomes do not make that easy.
Long handovers
Heating, water, battery, lights and climate each have their own panel. Every handover turns into a training session.
Calls at the worst time
Guests forget half of it and call, often in the evening or at the weekend.
Guesswork on the phone
You cannot see what is happening in the vehicle. Troubleshooting relies on the guest's description.
Damage with an unclear cause
A deeply discharged battery, water damage, a heater used the wrong way. In the end the question remains what really happened.
Three tools for rental operations
Everything runs through the SmartKnob in the vehicle and the dashboard on a phone or tablet. Your guest needs no app and no account.
Guest mode
from Q1 2027Your guest sees only what they need.
- A reduced interface for heating, water, lights and battery level
- Configuration and system values are locked for the guest
- Back to the defined baseline in one step after every rental
- A dial with haptic detents that announces menus and values
Diagnostic blackbox
in every deviceEvery fault has a cause, and it is on record.
- Every module and the SmartKnob store voltage extremes, overcurrent, temperature peaks and restarts, even across power cuts
- Clarifies the cause of damage: operation, third-party device or technical defect
- Your workshop reads the blackbox on site, the guest sees none of it
- No personal data, no location
Remote access
from Q1 2027Every vehicle in view without driving out.
- Check battery, tank levels and heating before handover, preheat in cold weather
- See the same dashboard as your guest during the rental and help precisely
- Check the condition after return, before the next guest arrives
- The full dashboard, not just a few values
Control, dashboard and automations run fully offline in the vehicle. Only remote access needs an internet connection, for example through a mobile router.
A rental with Camper Jarvis
-
Handover
Guest mode is active. You show how to turn and press the SmartKnob, and the guest is ready to go.
-
On the road
The guest controls heating, water and lights in one place. If they call, you see the same values through remote access.
-
Return
Check the condition and the blackbox, reset the vehicle, ready for the next guest.
Built for everyday rental use
Robust in operation
Lights and circuits on Lighty and Ampy stay operable through the normal wall switches, even if the SmartKnob ever fails.
Usable even without the SmartKnob
in developmentIf the SmartKnob fails, a module takes over the full dashboard. The system stays fully usable from a phone or tablet.
Engineered like a car
We develop to automotive industry processes (Automotive SPICE). All devices are CE compliant and tested in accredited laboratories. Ampy even meets the ASIL-B safety level for vehicle electronics.
Retrofit without rewiring
Modules communicate wirelessly and sit right next to the devices. No data cables through the vehicle.
One control for every brand
Truma, Victron, Votronic, Webasto, Eberspächer and many more. Your team learns one system instead of many.
Privacy for your guests
No location, no user data, no sign-up. Your guests are not tracked.
The base package for rental vehicles
It covers the most common causes of calls and damage and can be extended depending on the vehicle.
| SmartKnob | Central control for the guest, with guest mode and remote access from Q1 2027 |
|---|---|
| Volty | Battery, charging and consumption at a glance |
| Heaty | Simple heater control, with remote preheating from Q1 2027 |
| Fluidy (optional) | Tank levels, leak detection and frost warning against water damage |
Extendable with lighting, circuits and climate. Packages and prices on request, matched to your vehicles and quantities.
Where it pays off
Comfort for the guest is nice. What matters to you is cost.
Less damage
A single battery or water damage case can cost more than equipping a vehicle.
Fewer calls
A control the guest understands, and help based on real values instead of long phone calls.
Clarity in disputes
The blackbox shows what happened. That saves discussions with the guest and the insurer.
Shorter handovers
One dial instead of five panels. Less explaining at every rental.
How much this means for your business is something we measure together in a pilot project, with real numbers instead of estimates.
How to start: the pilot project
Start small, measure one season, then decide.
-
Introduction
A live demo of the SmartKnob and modules, online or on site, and a look at your vehicles.
-
Equip a pilot vehicle
One or two vehicles, installed by your workshop with our support or by a partner. Your team is trained.
-
One season in service
Together we record calls, damage, handover times and your guests' feedback.
-
Review
We review the season with you. Then you decide on further vehicles.
Frequent questions from rental companies
What if a guest changes a setting?
From Q1 2027, guest mode locks every setting the guest does not need. After the rental you reset the vehicle to its baseline in one step.
Does the vehicle need internet?
No. Control, dashboard and automations run offline in the vehicle. Only remote access and, if you agree, automatic transfer of diagnostic data to us need internet.
What if the SmartKnob fails?
Lights and circuits on Lighty and Ampy remain operable through the wall switches. We are also developing a backup function: a module takes over the full dashboard, so the whole system stays usable from a phone or tablet until the SmartKnob is replaced.
How long does installation take?
It depends on the vehicle. Because the modules communicate wirelessly and no data cables need to be run, a base package is usually installed in hours rather than days.
What happens when I sell a vehicle?
The system stays in the vehicle. Without guest mode the new owner gets the full feature set, and the equipment is a selling point.
Which data is recorded?
The blackbox stores only technical device states. No location data, no Wi-Fi names, nothing about your guests. Diagnostic data reaches us only if you agree to product improvement and the vehicle is online.
