Smart control for your Timberline heating system
The Timberline heating system can be connected to Camper Jarvis with the Heaty module. You then set heating circuits, zones and hot water on the SmartKnob or in the dashboard instead of on the heater's control panel.
Why Timberline is different from an air heater
Timberline is not just an air heater but a hybrid system: a diesel burner heats water, which runs through the vehicle via heating circuits, for example as underfloor heating. The same system also supplies hot water for the kitchen and bathroom at the same time.
The Timberline 2.0 works with two independent heating circuits and up to five zones. So you can keep the living area at a different temperature from the bathroom, or at night heat only where people are sleeping. This zone logic is exactly why a connection brings more here than with a simple air heater.
What you control via Camper Jarvis
- Target temperature for each heating circuit and each zone
- Hot water heating
- Operating mode and system status in real time
- Schedules and scenes, such as warming up the bathroom half an hour before you get up
- Links with the rest of the system, such as lowering the temperature when the vehicle is empty
Everything runs locally in the vehicle, without cloud and without having to use an app. You operate it on the SmartKnob or in the dashboard on your phone or tablet, both equal and in sync.
You choose the temperature sensor
When you create the widget, you decide which sensor supplies the temperature. For example, the SmartKnob's internal sensor in the living area instead of a sensor on the heater. This way the control is based on the place where you actually are.
Using shore power
Timberline comes with a 230V electric heating element with 1.5kW. When the vehicle is on shore power, you can heat with it without using diesel. Combined with the shore power detection on Switchy, this can be automated.
What you need
- A Heaty with the wiring harness for Timberline, which you choose when ordering
- A SmartKnob as the centre of the system
The wiring harness is always included in the box. Heaty gets its power directly from the heater through it, so you do not need an additional power cable.
Heaty technical data
- Input voltage 9-36V, so 12V and 24V
- Own consumption 0.3W
- Dimensions 88×65×18mm
- Encrypted wireless connection to the SmartKnob, local in the vehicle, without cloud
