Timberline in your camper: control the 1.0 and 2.0 from the SmartKnob and your phone

In short

You can control the Timberline 1.0 and 2.0 with Camper Jarvis on the SmartKnob and from your phone, even without internet. The Heaty module detects the heater and the heating zones automatically: you set target temperature and operating mode per zone, fan, heat source diesel or electric and frost protection in the dashboard or on the SmartKnob. On the Timberline, Heaty needs its own 12V supply.

The Timberline is more than an air heater: a diesel burner heats water that runs through the vehicle via heating circuits, for example as floor heating, and at the same time supplies hot water for the kitchen and bathroom. With Camper Jarvis you set your Timberline on the SmartKnob and in the dashboard on your phone or tablet instead of on the heater's control panel. For this, Heaty connects directly to the heater with the included cable and talks to it through its data interface. Heaty detects the heater and the heating zones automatically.

Which Timberline heaters work

Model Connection What works Status
Timberline 1.0 Heaty with the cable for Timberline, plus its own power supply Heater and heating zones are detected automatically. Target temperature and operating mode per zone, fan, heat source diesel, electric or both, frost protection mode, clear faults Supported
Timberline 2.0 Heaty with the cable for Timberline, plus its own power supply same as 1.0, plus the floor heating loop Supported

You always find the current status in the heater compatibility list. Questions about your system? Write to us using the contact form.

What you need

  • A SmartKnob as the central unit.
  • A Heaty with the cable for Timberline, which you choose when you order. The cable is always included.
  • Its own power supply for Heaty from the vehicle's electrical system.

With the other heaters, Heaty takes its power directly from the heater through the wiring harness. The Timberline is the exception: here the cable only carries the data connection to the heater, and Heaty gets its power separately from the vehicle's electrical system. You use one Heaty per heater.

What you get

  • Every zone on its own: set target temperature and operating mode per zone. The Timberline 2.0 works with two independent heating circuits and up to five zones. So you keep the living area at a different temperature from the bathroom, or at night you only heat where people are sleeping.
  • Diesel or electric: the Timberline comes with a 230V electric heating element with 1.5kW. Choose the heat source diesel, electric or both. On shore power you heat without using diesel. Together with the shore power detection of Switchy, this can be automated.
  • Hot water only: switch the heater on at the top and set Heating and Ventilation at the bottom to OFF, then the Timberline heats only the water.
  • Frost protection: switch the frost protection mode directly on the SmartKnob or in the dashboard.
  • The right sensor: when you create the widget, you decide which sensor supplies the temperature, for example the sensor in the SmartKnob in the living area instead of a sensor on the heater. This way the control is based on the place where you actually are.
  • From your phone in the vehicle: in the dashboard on your phone or tablet you control the heater just like on the SmartKnob, both in sync. You open the dashboard in your browser, no app needed.
  • Schedules and scenes: warm up the bathroom half an hour before you get up, lower the temperature at night or when the vehicle is empty.
  • Without internet: everything runs locally in the vehicle, without cloud. If you have internet on board, you can still use it, for updates for example.
