Webasto in your camper: control the Air Top Evo 40 from the SmartKnob and your phone

You can control a Webasto Air Top Evo 40 with Camper Jarvis on the SmartKnob and from your phone, even without internet. The Heaty module connects directly to the heater with the included wiring harness: you set target temperature, timer, boost and schedules in the dashboard or on the SmartKnob. We are currently working on other Air Top models, the Thermo Pro 90 and the Whale boiler.

Do you have a Webasto parking heater in your motorhome or camper and want to stop setting it only on the small control panel? With Camper Jarvis you control your Webasto Air Top Evo 40 on the SmartKnob and in the dashboard on your phone or tablet, where your lights, water and energy are too. For this, Heaty connects directly to the heater with the included wiring harness and talks to it through its data interface, just like the original control panel otherwise does. Today this works with the Air Top Evo 40. We are working on other Webasto models, you can see the status in the table.

In progress means: the integration is being developed and cannot be used yet. We do not give a date for it. You always find the current status in the heater compatibility list. What you need

  • A SmartKnob as the central unit.
  • A Heaty with the wiring harness for Webasto, which you choose when you order. The wiring harness is always included, it does not cost extra.

Heaty takes its power directly from the heater through the wiring harness, so you do not need an extra power cable. It works on 12V and 24V. You use one Heaty per heater. If you have two independent heaters, a second Heaty is added. Each heater stays individually controllable and can be used separately in automations.

What you get

  • Heat with a turn and a press: set the target temperature and boost directly on the SmartKnob.
  • Status at a glance: you see the status of the heater in real time on the SmartKnob and in the dashboard.
  • Timer and schedules: preheat in the morning before the alarm goes off and lower the temperature at night. If you like, the heater also starts automatically when it gets too cold. You can still control it by hand at any time.
  • From your phone in the vehicle: in the dashboard on your phone or tablet you control the heater just like on the SmartKnob, both in sync. You open the dashboard in your browser, no app needed.
  • The right sensor: control is based on the sensor in the SmartKnob in the living area, an external sensor or power mode.
  • Without internet: everything runs locally in the vehicle, without cloud. If you have internet on board, you can still use it, for updates for example.

Important: never switch a parking heater off simply through its power supply. After switching off it needs an afterrun so the burner can cool down. This is why a heater in Camper Jarvis always runs through Heaty.

Which heaters can I control with Heaty?

Heaty controls your existing parking heater directly, currently the Autoterm 2D and 4D, Timberline 1.0 and 2.0, the Webasto Air Top Evo 40 and the Eberspächer Airtronic S2 and S3. Heaty connects directly to the heater with the matching wiring harness, which is included. We are working on more Eberspächer and Webasto models as well as Truma, Alde, Wallas and Scheer. Instead of fiddling with your heater's small original control panel, you simply set temperature, timer and operating mode on the SmartKnob or in the dashboard. Do I need a SmartKnob for Heaty to work?

Yes. Heaty is a module and connects to the SmartKnob, which is the hub of the system. Without a SmartKnob there is no user interface and there are no automations. If you already have one in your vehicle, you simply pair Heaty with it.

Is one Heaty enough for my whole camper?

One Heaty controls exactly one heater. If you have two separate parking heaters in your vehicle, each gets its own Heaty. In return, each one stays individually and cleanly controllable via the SmartKnob and fits perfectly into scenes and automations.

What is included with Heaty?

Everything you need to connect it: the Heaty module, the wiring harness for exactly the heater you select when ordering, and four mounting screws. Because the cable already fits your heater, installation is genuinely plug-and-play: no tinkering, no hunting for adapters.

Does Heaty need a separate power supply?

Usually not. The supplied wiring harness is designed so that Heaty gets its power directly from the heater. That saves you extra cables and valuable build time. The exception is the Timberline: there, Heaty needs its own additional 12V supply. Just plug it in: as soon as Heaty is supplied with power, it actively starts looking for a SmartKnob in pairing mode.

Does Heaty work on 12V and 24V?

Yes. Heaty works in the range from 9 to 36V, so it fits both 12V and 24V systems. It takes its power directly from the heater via the supplied wiring harness anyway.
