In short

Camper Jarvis shows your Victron devices in one place: SmartShunt and BMV-712, MPPT solar charge controllers and Orion XS via VE.Direct, MultiPlus and Quattro via VE.Bus. Volty Pro reads them directly, you see state of charge, solar yield and consumption on the SmartKnob and in the dashboard, and you choose the MultiPlus operating mode with a turn and a press. It all runs locally in the vehicle, even without internet.

Victron is a fixture in many camper builds: SmartShunt, solar charge controller, DC-DC charger and inverter/charger. But every device has its own display or runs through the app via Bluetooth. Camper Jarvis brings the Victron values onto the SmartKnob and into the dashboard, together with your heater, lights and water. For this, Volty Pro connects directly to the VE.Direct and VE.Bus data interfaces.

Victron devices with Bluetooth only, for example the Orion-Tr Smart or the Blue Smart Charger, will follow later. You always find the current status in the energy compatibility list.

What you need

  • A SmartKnob as the central unit.
  • A Volty Pro, paired with the SmartKnob. The matching cables are included.

A short note on VE.Bus: Victron does not officially approve third-party devices for its large inverter/chargers. Volty Pro is designed so that nothing should go wrong, but you use the VE.Bus port at your own risk.

Is a simple voltage display enough for the battery?

For a lead-acid battery at rest it gives you a rough idea. For lithium batteries, and for decisions like “will it last until tomorrow?”, it isn't enough, because the voltage hardly changes between about 20% and 90% charge. For that you need a battery monitor or the data from the BMS, which Volty Pro shows you on the SmartKnob.

Do I have to replace my existing power devices?

No. Volty Pro reads your existing devices through their interfaces, and the right cables are included. Whether your device is already supported is shown in the power compatibility list in the knowledge hub.

What can Volty Pro read?

Volty Pro brings your whole energy system together in one place. It reads battery monitors, lithium batteries with CAN, solar charge controllers, chargers, inverter/chargers and DC-DC chargers (battery-to-battery chargers). It connects through each manufacturer's data ports: • Victron via VE.Direct and VE.Bus • Ective via CAN • EcoFlow via the EcoFlow Power Link • Votronic via LIN We are working on smart BMS such as Daly, JK or JBD. Which devices already work today is shown in the [Energy compatibility list](/blogs/wissen/kompatibilitaet-energie). Instead of a separate app or display for every device, you see state of charge, solar yield and consumption together on the SmartKnob and in the dashboard, even with a mix of many manufacturers. So you can pick the best from each manufacturer and still have everything in one place.

Do I have to buy the data cables separately?

No, Volty Pro comes with a ready-made cable set for all data ports, included in the box. You do not need to buy anything separately. Only where a manufacturer such as Victron or Votronic specifies its own original communication cable do you use that one, because it is part of the connection the manufacturer has specified.

Can Volty monitor a second battery?

Yes, the second voltage input (Battery 2) lets you keep an eye on an additional leisure battery. Important: this input is intended exclusively for additional leisure or house batteries, not for the starter battery or the vehicle's primary electrical system. That is outside the product specification.

Can I switch my inverter on and off via Volty?

Yes, if your inverter has a remote on/off connection or switching on and off is built into its data interface, as with the Victron MultiPlus or the Ective CSI Pro, for example. Volty Pro has a 2-pin remote output for this. It lets you switch the inverter on and off directly from the dashboard or the SmartKnob, without getting up.
