Setting up Ampy's outputs: every output becomes a widget

Updated 9 October 2026Ampy

In the dashboard every output gets a widget, and while doing so you choose what is actually connected to it. The widget then looks like the function, not like a technical power channel.

The setup wizard

  1. Choose the device. Select the Ampy, if you have several a meaningful name helps.
  2. Choose the output. Which of the six outputs you are using.
  3. Choose the load template. What is connected there, see the list below.
  4. Confirm the details. For example fuse value and behaviour.
  5. Name and icon. So you recognise the widget straight away.

After that you can rename any widget at any time, add it to your favourites or adjust it, without any rewiring.

The templates

  • Light: on and off with dimmer, can be included in light scenes
  • Water pump: pump switch with a slow fuse for the starting current
  • Device or load: universal switch with consumption display, for example fridge, inverter or fan
  • Boiler or heating: switch with suitable fusing
  • Frost guard: switches the frost protection circuit
  • Awning, entry step, lift bed: motor control with run time and direction lock
  • Pop-top roof: up, neutral and down over two outputs, with limit switches or run time
  • Air diverter: two named outputs instead of on and off
  • Drain valve: valve control, can be linked with the water tank
